Caveat: This is pure speculation on my part

Will an orange Planet Ocean replace the tuxedo?

Photo: Dell Deaton at the debrief station in the "Bond, James Bond" exhibit, The Henry Ford, 1993James Bond fan sites went into overdrive last Sunday after an exclusive in The Observer, January 22, announced: "James Bond will not be wearing black tie in Casino Royale. Following is their "scoop" from 007 star, Daniel Craig, when asked "if he'd been fitted for his tux yet."

"Actually, he doesn't wear one in this version.... I'm not sure if I should tell you that, so there's a scoop for you."

Noting that casting Mr. Craig "...will dispense with the classic image of Ian Fleming's creation as the holders of the film franchise try to extend their product's popularity," I got to wondering how they might maximize their efforts.

And since the Omega Planet Ocean has been on the short list for some time now, could it be that it's not the black bezel we should have our eyes pealed for — but rather, the orange?

In my opinion, certainly no more extreme than the blue bezel version 2541.80 (quartz) or 2531.80 (mechanical) watches worn in the last three James Bond 007 films. I guess we'll know for sure in a week or two.

In the meantime, remember who went out on a limb here first with this.
