Photo: Dell Deaton at the debrief station in the "Bond, James Bond" exhibit, The Henry Ford, 1993On this, the first day of filming on Casino Royale, it seems appropriate to commend Crowley Maritime Corp. for cleverly leveraging the promotional value of this great association with James Bond 007.

My own communications background (dating back to the early 1980s) includes work for Panalpina PANFAIRService USA, one of the premier suppliers to the international trade show industry. So this is my professional hat's off to a respected peer in getting the word out against tough competition.

"Crowley Maritime Corp. will carry 28 pickup trucks, 25 production trailers, 11 excavators, cranes and other equipment to Nassau next month for filming of the next James Bond movie, 'Casino Royale.'

The cargo will leave the U.S. by way of Jacksonville or Port Everglades and some will come from Europe."

Die hard fans will no doubt be on the lookout for shipping manifests, customs filings, and any other public records available for planning their February tavels in pursuit of any and all that is 007.
