As part of D² Enterprises, my partner and I worked on our first trade show display. This was in 1984 for the Automotive News World Expo held at Cobo Center in Detroit.
In the years that followed, I went out on my own to manage mega-exhibits across the United States and internationally. During the 1990s this included development of a first city-owned exhibition in Pittsburgh and serving a three-year term of the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) board of directors.
Here’s a sampling of pieces that I’ve written about my experiences and as for advocacy.
- “Exhibitors typically mature through 3 phases with their international stand presentations”
- “Future of Trade Show Marketing? You Decide.”
- “Managing the Mega-Show”
- “What does information age mean for future of trade shows?”
