My
contribution here is
outside the mainstream
of plot summaries and
production teams. I get
into those things when
it makes sense, but for
the most part I figure
you can get that
anywhere on the Internet
or off the magazine rack
at your grocery store
checkout line.
What moves me to write
are the bigger contexts
into which movies and
music and television
fit. The specific
struggle of a meaningful
character, changed by
the process we go
through with him here.
When you hear "I've Got
You Babe" sung by Sony &
Cher, what is the "all"
that comes down on you
to make that experience?
I dunno about you,
but I can certainly
share what it is to
me. So I do.
Leave the high-brow
stuff to someone else.
Nothing goes on my
website because simply
it's been labeled a
classic — by any source.
To me, Dallas is
one of the best story
lines of all time, and
As Good as it Gets
seeks to advance one of
the most reprehensible
messages I can imagine
among mainstream
interpersonal dynamics.
Talk radio is my
favorite genre, and I
partake of it quite a
bit. On that, let me say
that Dr. Joy Browne is
far superior to Dr.
Laura Schlessinger when
it comes to fundamentals
and education. Dr.
Laura, on the other
hand, is a better public
servant via the radio.
Did I mention
controversy
as piece of this area in
my website?
Come on! analysis
can be fun. And if this
place was like
everywhere else, why
spend your time here?
That said, you also have
my promise that there's
nothing gratuitous here.
Now on to our Feature
Presentations.
